Dear NRNA Australia Registered Members and Community Members,

Resolution of NRNA Australia Election Debate

The NRNA Australia Election issue had to be resolved to make NRNA Australia inclusive so that we can have not 12000 members but next year to target for 100,000 members to make all Nepalese feel part of the NRNA Australia. The main good thing that NRNA Australia does and we sgould be financial member of NRNA Australia is with its NRNA Australia Social Welfare Fund Nepalese community benefits. Your $5.00 of the membership directly goes to NRNA Australia Social Welfare Fund.

In 2017 – 2019, 58 people will be benefited by the NRNA Australia Social Welfare Fund with the cost of $86,093.47 where 90 percent of the recipients were not Registered Members. In 2019-2021, the policy was changed so that the Registered Members get more financial benefit than non-Registered Members. Membership is open 24/7 and it is only $25 or $10 for students for 2 years. It is just some drink money but will benefit Nepalese community when they are in need.

On the following premises we all sat on table to find solution to the problem:

It is important that the Nepalese community lives in harmony.

It is important for the Nepalese community to demonstrate to the Australian community that the Nepalese community is a proud community and integrates with the Australian community.
Their priority is to spend money in Nepal or Australia for charitable purposes.

Litigation is a costly way to resolve non-profit organisations disputes not only to limited to NRNA Australia, but hundreds of other Nepali organisations registered across Australia, is disruptive to the harmony of the Nepalese community and undermines the objectives stated above, and it is preferable for members to leave organisations rather than engage in litigation, and in a case of serious allegations of unlawful or illegal conduct (such as harassment, bullying and discrimination) by members or officials of the organisations then to approach any Governmental Agency or other regulatory body with a view to obtaining the most effective, cheap and best solution for the affected person.

The meeting was held at Nepalese Consulate office in Victoria. The mediation team was led by NRNA Australia Patron, Jog Limbu with team members NRNA Australia Patron, Honorary Consul Chandra Yonzon, Senior Victorian Leader and NRNA Member, Sunil Bhandari, Senior Victorian Leader and NRNA Member, Ranjan Vaidya and Senior Victorian Leader and NRNA Member, Laxmi Yonzon where was Claimants were led by energetic young leader and NRNA Australia Member, Ganesh Gautam with team members passionate young leader and NRNA Australia Member, Nirajan Gouli, active young leader and NRNA Australia Member, Lok Raj Poudel, proactive young leader and NRNA Australia Member, Prakash Sedhai and wise young leader and NRNA Australia Member, Mandab Karki.

For NRNA Australia, the team was led by NRNA Australia Patron and Immediate Past President, Tonnou W G Ghothane with team members Current President, Keshav Raj Kadel, Vice President of NRNA Australia, Prem Kandel and Elected ICC Member, Narayan Kafle.

With one week of mediation, it was found that we all cared for and betterment of NRNA Australia and we all wanted to make better NRNA Australia, so it is sustainable, transparent,
accountable and with integrity.

Miscommunication is human evil.

There is always a solution with mediation if all parties come with good intention and faith.

I, on behalf of NRNA Australia thank all who has contributed on the settlement who have contributed significant amount of time, wisdom and constructive feedback.

At the same time, I would like to thank all spouses and children of the team, who have been considerate and supportive for us to hold historic meeting.

It was a historic day for Nepalese community and NRNA Australia to make it more inclusive. NRNA Australia will always listen to its members to improve so our benchmark gets higher. It is not easy to be leading Nepalese community Australia wide and be the umbrella organisation for all organisations in Australia.

With leadership of Keshav Ral Kadel, we will definitely see significant change in NRNA Australia.

Now we have robust Constitution, 10 By-Laws and 55 Policies to make NRNA Australia institutionalised rather than Ad Hoc organisation. When I left NRNA Australia, I wanted to leave NRNA Australia being institutionalised and establishment of NRNA Australia Policy Institute and NRNA Australia Foundation which will be registered as Charity and Tax Deductible so that any donation that you give to NRNA Australia Foundation for the benefit of Nepali in Australia and Nepal and Australian in Australia as my Legacy.

We have already started the cycle and 2019-2021 team will complete it.

29 August 2019, Thursday will be the Historic Day in the history of NRNA Australia and Victoria. This day will be remembered forever.

We had a celebration dinner which is attached here.

There will be a joint Press Release on Sunday at 4:30 PM, 1 September 2019 at Melbourne.

Thank you.

Yours sincerely,

Tonnou W G Ghothane
